Shipping & Returns

The boring but important bit. I've kept it short, mainly because I hate reading these too. Nothing here affects your statutory rights under UK law.

How it's packed

Prints and works on paper go out in bespoke, made-to-measure tubes, sealed at both ends and padded so nothing moves. Canvases and larger pieces get custom packaging and corner protection. Unless somebody along the way decides to play cricket with the tube, it'll arrive in perfect condition.

How it's sent

  • Prints and regular items: Royal Mail, tracked. UK orders go by Tracked 48, usually 2 to 3 working days once it's left me. International orders go by Royal Mail International Tracked, usually 3 to 5 working days in Europe and 5 to 7 elsewhere. Every country has its own rate, worked out at checkout.

  • Canvases and larger items: sent by DHL, FedEx or UPS. Postage for these isn't charged at checkout. Once your piece is ready and I've got your address, I'll invoice you for the exact delivery cost, so you never pay a guessed price.

  • Gift cards and downloads: arrive by email straight after checkout. No post involved.

If the postage I pay ends up lower than what you paid at checkout, I'll refund the difference when I post it.

Tracking is your job

Every order comes with a tracking number. Please follow it, make sure someone is around to receive it, and pick it up from the post office or depot if you get a card. Originals and commissions especially.

If a parcel comes back to me because it wasn't collected, was refused, or the address you gave was wrong, I'll happily send it again, but the new postage is on you.

Lost in the post

If it goes missing in transit, or the carrier sends it back to me through no fault of yours, that's my problem, not yours. Check your tracking first. If it's stalled, contact your local post office or delivery office, as most "missing" parcels are sitting there waiting to be collected. If that doesn't sort it, email me at j@jboy.co.uk and I'll resolve it with a replacement or a refund.

Customs and import fees

Orders going outside the UK may be charged import duty, tax or handling fees by the destination country. Those charges are set by your country, not by me, and are paid by you as the person receiving the parcel.

Arrived damaged?

Rare, but cricket happens. Email me within 7 days of delivery with photos of the item and the packaging.

  • I'll send you a replacement. Depending on the damage, I may just tell you to keep the damaged one.

  • If I need it back, I'll cover the cost of returning it.

  • If a replacement isn't possible, for example with a one-off original, you'll get a full refund including postage.

Returns

Most of what I sell is made or picked for you: a specific edition number, a dedication, a colour, a custom finish, a commission. All of those are made to your specification, so they're final sale and can't be returned unless they arrive damaged or faulty.

For a standard, off-the-shelf print with nothing picked or changed, UK law gives you 14 days from delivery to change your mind. Email j@jboy.co.uk first. It has to come back unframed, undamaged and rolled the way I sent it, at your cost and your risk. I'll refund the item price and the standard postage you paid within 14 days of getting it back. If it comes back handled or marked, I can reduce the refund to cover that.

Final sale, no returns

These can't be returned or refunded unless they arrive damaged or faulty:

  • Commissions.

  • Custom and personalised items, including hand-painted T-shirts, customised prints, dedications and prints where you chose the edition number.

  • Digital downloads, once you've downloaded them.

  • Gift cards, once the code has been sent.
